Revolver Entry

The Beatles before the album "Revolver" was already big and famous around the world. But this album reached and blew everyone expectations and still happening. Before this album The Beatles were producing more rock pop style music. With this album they went more psychedelic and used some crazy sounds and effects on the album.

The Beatles used different influence while producing this album and one of their biggest was the LSD that is why this album is very psychedelic, not only on the music aspect but in the lyrics too. The Beatles used their studio as an instrument while producing this album. This creates an effect and a cool reverb that gave that feel while they recorded the songs.

In the album "Revolver" The Beatles innovate some sounds effects and new feels to the tracks. The reverse guitar was one of their new sound effects that they use in multiple tracks of the album and gave that cool psychedelic feel to the song. Apart from these, they processed the lead vocal. They used some pre-recorded loops and they double the vocals to give a new feel that sounded great in The Beatles.

This album as a listener gives me some good impression and made me want to listen the album for the rest of my life. This album is well produced, recorded and mixed. As an industry professional this album serves for me as a big inspiration in many ways and how it was mixed, giving me multiple ideas for when I have the opportunity to do my own.

  1. I agree with Jose on many points. The use of LSD, also known as acid, by The Beatles was one of the biggest reasons why this album was such a landmark in the music world. The ideas that they conceived while under the influence were so wild and abstract that when coupled with their enormous amount of talent, they created something that would last for plenty of decades. Another big part of their sound on that album is the mixing techniques that were used. The processing of vocals and instruments lent a very unique characteristic to their sound for this record.

  2. I agree with Jose and Jorge. The Beatle's sound totally evolved after they experimented with LSD. The band went from pop rock with little girls screaming to super psychedelic, far out and trippy. I believe that LSD made the Beatle's Revolver album what it is today and without this drug there would be a totally different album for us to listen to. The backwards vocals add an extremely trippy effect to the album and coincidentally the mistake of putting the tape reel on backwards was made while under the influence of marijuana. Not to say that they were not under the influence of other drugs as well. All in all a great album was made. Thanks to the Beatles and LSD!
